Deputies Return Stolen Items to Los Osos Residents

LOS OSOS, Calif. – Sheriff’s investigators are looking for a Los Osos man accused of stealing from several homes.

They’ve already arrested one woman they say is connected to the crimes.

“I’ve never had anything like that happen in my own front yard, that’s just amazing,” theft victim Leener McClintock said.

Early Thursday morning Leener McClintock’s husband noticed something wasn’t quite right with their van in the driveway.

“They had gone through my glove box and through the side panels and the pockets and pulled out the cash,” McClintock said.

McClintock wasn’t the only victim – San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s investigators say 25-year-old Ross Munson and his accomplice, 31-year-old Angela McGee, both of Los Osos – were rummaging through yards and garages in the same neighborhood.

Mclintock thinks drugs motivated Munson and McGee.

“The other thing that I discovered was that I had cigarette ashes in my driver seat and my entire car reeked of cigarette smoke,” McClintock said.

Detectives arrested Mcgee but Munson got away. They searched for a while but couldn’t track him down.

“I feel very very violated in my own front door,” McClintock said.

Investigators say the two are responsible for as many as 15 thefts in the area – stealing everything from electronics to power tools estimated in the thousands of dollars. Detectives found what was stolen in the suspect’s car.

“The words I would like to use, I don’t want to go there but I’m very very upset,” McClintock said.

Police are in the process of returning the things that were stolen to their rightful owners.
