Foresters Host Team USA and Tie

Hunter Williams homered and the Santa Barbara Foresters pitchers struck out 10 batters and did not issue a walk as they played the USA Baseball National Collegiate Team to a 1-1 tie.

This was the first time that Team USA played a game in Santa Barbara. The two teams played on Tuesday at Dodger Stadium in a game won by Team USA 10-6.

Wednesday’s game was called in the bottom of the tenth inning tied at 1 when USA reliever Kyle Nelson from UCSB appeared to hurt his arm. Since Team USA did not have anyone warming up and they were running out of daylight the game was called.

The Foresters got a big pitching performance from starter Kyle Johnson who worked six innings, he allowed one run, four hits and struck out six.
