Lompoc Softball Wins CIF Semifinal Game

The Lompoc Braves softball team turned the tables on St. Bonaventure this year to advance to the CIF Division 5 finals where they will face Louisville.

The Braves scored three times in the bottom of the sixth inning and shutout the Seraphs 3-0 in a CIF Southern Section Division 5 semifinal game. Last year St. Bonaventure knocked Lompoc out of the playoffs with a second round 8-0 shutout.

Jocelyn Taylor’s two-out, two-run single was the big hit in the game. Kendal Martin drove in the final run with an RBI single.

The finals match-up against Louisville will either be Friday or Saturday in Irvine at Deanna Manning Stadium. The CIF will announce the day and time later in the week.
