Golf Cart Crash Claims the Life of Ventura Resident

A 69-year-old Ventura man is dead following a vehicle crash involving a golf cart at the intersection of Darling Road and Poinsettia Gardens Drive shortly after 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

The Ventura Police Department says a preliminary investigation revealed the golf cart drove onto the roadway and was hit by a motor vehicle traveling westbound on Darling Road.

The driver of the motor vehicle stopped and waited for police at the scene. She was not injured. However, arriving officers found the 69-year-old golf cart driver unresponsive.

The 69-year-old was treated on scene by Ventura City Firefighters and taken to Ventura County Medical Center by ambulance. Despite life-saving efforts, the 69-year-old died later from injuries he suffered during the crash.

The identity of the deceased has not been released pending notification of next-of-kin.
