Pismo Beach On Top Ten Polluted List According to Heal The Bay

According to healthebay.org Pismo Beach has made the top 10 list of dirties beaches in the state of California.

Heal the Bay says, “Moist, dark conditions and leaky pipes underneath the piers turn many nearby beaches into veritable Petri dishes.” They go on to say that the water quality had been on an upturn here for the past decade, but recent grades have sent the beach, south of the pier, to the back of the class.

We’re speaking with city leaders and beach goers on their reaction, and why they believe the Pismo Beach pier made the list this year. That story will air on KCOY 12 Central Coast News this evening starting at 5 p.m.
