Nipomo Man Arrested, Facing Child Molestation Charges
22-year-old Angel Manuel Ponce was arrested by San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s deputies at his Nipomo home Thursday night and is now facing child molestation charges.
Detectives with the Sheriff’s Sexual Assault Unit launched an investigation after receiving a tip about allegations of continuous child molestation against a girl younger than 10 years old.
“Based on their investigation it was determined a 22-year-old Nipomo man had repeatedly molested the victim over the course of several years,” says SLO County Sheriff’s Public Information Officer Tony Cipolla.
Ponce was taken into custody just before 9 p.m. Thursday in the 500 block of Peacock Way for one count of sexual intercourse or sodomy with a victim under 10 years old.
Detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify any other potential victims in this case by calling the SLO County Sheriff’s Office at 805-781-4500.
