Santa Barbara Central Library Gets Exterior Upgrades

Renovations have begun at the Santa Barbara Central Library. Workers are on site restoring the Library’s exterior faade, including masonry repairs, wood restoration, and overall exterior painting. A scaffolding has been constructed on the outside of the structure at the corner of Anapamu and Anacapa streets.

Library services will continue while the work is done.

The project has been reviewed by the City’s Historic Landmarks Commission. Architectural features will be enhanced with paint colors that represent the Spanish Colonial Revival style and existing designs.

The project is scheduled to be complete by June 24.

Schmidt and Schmidt Construction, Inc., has been contracted for the work.
