Oxnard Police Remember Fallen Officers

The Oxnard Police Department held a ceremony beneath a large flag to honor the officers and a police K9 killed in the line of duty.

The annual ceremony took place in front of the police department on C St.

Relatives had special seats up front.

One of the officers remembered was Jim O’Brien. O’Brien was shot and killed by a gunman responsible for deadly shootings at unemployment offices in 1993.

The memorial serves as a reminder of the risks officers and their four-legged friends face each day.
