5-Month Undercover Operation Results in 20 Arrests in Santa Barbara

20 individuals have been arrested in connection with a five-month long investigation that involved the Santa Barbara Police Department, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, into the sales of illegal narcotics and firearms.

The joint operation also involved the Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s Office from November 2015 to April 2016 at several locations throughout the city of Santa Barbara and unincorporated areas.

Undercover BATFE agents and informants, along with a police narcotics unit made controlled purchases of illegal drugs and firearms from suspects.

10 firearms, 3.5 ounces of methamphetamine, 2 ounces of cocaine, and ounce of heroin were seized.

The following 20 suspects were arrested and booked into Santa Barbara County Jail for the listed offenses:

One additional suspect, Lillian Rose Stewart, age 75, of Santa Barbara was cited for maintaining a place to use or sell a controlled substance. Her photo is not available.

The Santa Barbara Police Department says that more arrests related to this operation may be coming.
