Victims of Triple Homicide In Goleta Valley Are Identified

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office released the names of the three homicide victims who were found dead in their Goleta Valley home on Wednesday night.

The Sheriff’s Coroner’s Office identified the three victims as 57-year-old Dr. Weidong Henry Han, his wife 29-year-old Jennie Huiji Yu and their five-year-old daughter Emily Han. Emily was a kindergartner at Foothill Elementary School.

Dr. Han was a respected herbal medicinal physician who practiced in Santa Barbara. His office is located on Upper State Street.

Today, his patients showed up for their appointments only to find out the clinic was closed. They were shocked to hear the tragic news.

“He’s a healer and a friend. I don’t know the situation is but I’m holding prayers that everything is fine for him and his family,” said Conda Emmeluth, one of Dr. Han’s patients.

Emmeluth and her husband has trusted Dr. Han since 2009. Her husband was suffering from an illness in which Dr. Han cured. Emmeluth says many of her friends also saw him on a regular basis.

Emmeluth arrived for her appointment today with a set of crayons in hand.

“Last time I saw Emily here and she had a rainbow that she has created because we had rain and she has found rainbows in the back and it was missing purple and I said back honey next time I come back I’ll bring crayons with purple in it and so this was for Emily so she could make her new rainbow with purple,” said Emmeluth.

Emmeluth describes Han’s family as loving. She said his wife, Jennie, was beautiful and their daughter, Emily, was the love of his life.

Dr. Han’s ex-wife, Evelyn Leyson, also showed up to the crime scene.

Leyson says she hasn’t talked to Han for years, but can’t imagine anyone holding a grudge against his family.

“Henry is such a nice guy who helped people and I was just shocked,” said Evelyn Leyson.

The investigation is on-going. The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department will release an update Friday afternoon. Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to call the Sheriff’s Anonymous Tip-Line at (805) 681-4171.
