SLO Business Owner Closes Shop, Thanks Customers For Support
Bo Kiacherman, owner of SLO Good on Higuera Street, closed down her business Friday.
Kiacherman said “competing against Ross, Victoria Secret, Sophora” and other retail giants in downtown San Luis Obispo made it impossible to keep the doors open.
“A slow days sometimes is $35, so if you’re not moving through your product fast enough to turn around and pay your bills, it becomes a losing battle.”
Robin Ramus said business is tough for small business owners in the area. She told KEYT/KCOY/KKFX’s Cory James she had a friend who tried running a business in San Luis Obispo and experienced periods of “low sales and almost no sales” at times.
Kiacherman said the decision to close was a difficult one at first, but after she came to terms with it, it became the start of a new chapter.
“Once I got my ego out of it, quite frankly it became really easy for me,” she said. “Because I’m not going to mortgage my home to make this work. Either it works the way I’m doing it or it doesn’t.”
