Shark Sighted Near Beach in Morro Bay
A surfer spotted what appeared to be a Great White shark at Morro Strand State Beach about 100 yards off the beach just before 10 a.m. Friday.
A City official confirmed the sighting had happened.
A shark sighting notice went out to all beachgoers informing them to enter the water at their own risk.
City officials say that these notices are fairly routine to inform the public of potential risks, and remind everyone that they must use their own judgement when entering the ocean.
