Driver Recovering After Vehicle Rollover in Ventura

A man is recovering after the vehicle he was driving rolled over in the area of Northbank Drive and Mojave Drive late Friday night.

At about 10:03 p.m., emergency crews with the Ventura City Fire Department were dispatched to a single vehicle rollover accident, and discovered a trapped victim inside.

The car came to rest on the driver’s door in the middle of Northbank Drive. Firefighters stabilized the vehicle with a strut system. They then used hydraulic cutting tools to remove the hood of the vehicle and safely get the victim out.

The driver of the car was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The cause of the accident is under investigation by the Ventura Police Department.
