More Victims Identified in Daycare Molestation Case

Lompoc Police say they have identified two more victims in an alleged child molestation case involving a local, licensed child daycare provider.

Police say this is a top priority case after an underage girl came forward and reported she was molested while at the daycare facility.

Police say the alleged child molestations took place at the Mojarras Family Child Care facility operated out of a home on East Nectarine Avenue.

Salvador Moreno Mojarras Jr. has been arrested on child molestation charges involving children under the ages of 14 and 10.

A woman who came to the front door of the home on East Nectarine Ave. declined to talk about the case.

A neighbor says he never heard anything other than the sound of children playing at the Mojarras family home.

“As of today’s date, we have three victims and we anticipate a lot more victims”, says Lompoc Police Chief Pat Walsh, “my heart goes out to the victims and their families, we’re heartbroken here, this is the most pressing case we have.”

“I just want to tell the family members and the parents in particular that this is an extremely important case to us and we’re taking it very seriously”, Chief Walsh says.

Walsh is urging any parent who had a child attend the Mojarras Family Child Care facility in the last 15 years to contact Lompoc Police Detective Scott Morgan at (805) 875-8159.

“What they need to do is call us and let us have a forensic investigator who knows how to do these interviews”, Chief Walsh says, “the child doesn’t know the investigator, they know how to ask the questions and they will be in good hands. We want all of the parents to contact us and let us just have a shot at talking to their kids.”
