Family Asks The Public For Help Locating Missing Goleta Man

Family members and friends are looking for a 22-year-old man who was last seen in the Goleta area Saturday.

Cody West is a local manager and waiter at Jane Restaurant in downtown Santa Barbara.

West’s mother, Juliette, says he left home at 10:30p.m. Saturday night to go to a friend’s party. That friend said he was supposed to take a car- service to go home, but West and his car were not there in the morning.

Family and friends are desperately searching the Los Carneros area where his cell-phone was last tracked to. West’s brother-in-law, Owen Grohman, says “since Monday we’ve done a pretty thorough search in the area where his cell phone could have last pinged, which is basically the entire city of Goleta.” Grohman adds that members of the community and friends have helped in the search efforts.

His sister Blaze tells NewsChannel 3, “it doesn’t seem real. It’s not like him to not be in touch with all of us, especially not showing up for work. He’s never done something like this.”

Sisters Chenye and Summer West have reached out via social media to locate their brother Cody West.

West’s car is a silver 1999 Audi Quattro with License plate number CA 4HAZ784.

Santa Barbara County Sheriff spokesperson Kelly Hoover said efforts are being made by deputies to find West and the family is concerned for his well-being.

Hoover said a Santa Barbara County Air Support Unit conducted air surveillance Tuesday over remote areas in search for his vehicle.

The Sheriff’s Search and Rescue team was also called out to search in the area where he was last seen.

West was officially reported missing Monday. Since then he has failed to show up to work and phone calls to him have gone straight to his voice mail.

West’s family describe him as 5’8″, weighing approximately 160 lbs. with brown hair and brown eyes.

Kelly Hoover from the Sheriff’s department says if anyone spots West or his car, call 911.
