Arroyo Grande Gas Pipes Pass Inspection
ARROYO GRANDE, Calif. – Gas pipelines in Arroyo Grande on West Branch Road have passed state mandated pressure tests.
The hydrostatic test is part of a statewide effort to make sure all pipelines are either tested or replaced to make sure its working properly.
The natural gas pipeline explosion in the Bay Area city of San Bruno five years ago pushed the California Public Utilities Commission to order a system-wide effort to improve the safety of pipelines.
Arroyo Grande resident Richard Ireland said that he is “glad to hear that this is happening” and notes it will help insure safety.
Southern California Gas crews will be done with the project by May 20.
