Investment Made To Spur Solar Panel Installation.

Google announced plans to invest $300 million into a Solar City fund to help install solar panels on thousands of homes.

The Community Environmental Council is applauding the investment.

Jefferson Litten, CEC’s energy program manager called it a win-win for the companies, renewable energy and consumers.

Litten said the money will help pay for panels that will be installed on homes.

Homeowners could just pay Solar City for the electricity generated or lease the panels.

Solar City’s chairman is Elon Musk, the co-founder of PayPal and the CEO of Tesla.

Investors think the investment may help his plans to build and sell batteries that can store energy for home appliances and cars.
