Multi-Car Accident Leaves One Person Trapped in Summerland
An accident on U.S. 101 through Montecito and Summerland snarled traffic Monday morning.
The three-car pile-up happened near Ortega Hill just before 7 a.m.
Emergency crews said they had to use the “Jaws of Life” to pull a man from his wrecked vehicle. It took nearly two hours to get the man out.
Tow trucks had to pull the cars apart to assist in getting the man out of the wreckage.
Firefighters said the man suffered moderate injuries.
No one else was injured in the accident.
