Ventura County Man Accused Of Setting Wife On Fire Turns Himself In

The Ventura County man accused of setting his wife on fire in front of their three young children has turned himself in to police in Bakersfield.

Juan Hernandez Soria, 31, surrendered to authorities Thursday night. Ventura County Sheriff’s deputies have since taken him into custody.

Hernandez Soria is accused of throwing gasoline on his wife and setting her on fire. Police say it happened inside their Moorpark home on the 11800 block of Broadway Road on Monday.

The 29-year-old victim suffered major injuries but managed to get help from a power company crew working nearby. She was taken to a hospital.
