UCSB Students Warned About Sexual Violence

University of California Santa Barbara Police sent out email alerts to students warning them about multiple sexual assault reports over the past several weeks.

Some were on campus. Investigators said all of them were somehow linked to parties in Isla Vista. In most cases the survivor identified the individual responsible.

If students need an escort they may call the Campus Security Office at 805-893-2000.

Survivors may also get help at Campus Advocacy Resources & Education, known as CARE, in the Student Resource Building. A 24-hour hotline is set up at 805-893-4613.

Students will see an increased police presence during Halloween to prevent sexual violence.
