Peter Rodger: ‘My Son Is A Mass Murderer’ | A Barbara Walters Interview
ABC’s Barbara Walters returns to television to interview Peter Rodger.
He’s the father of Elliot Rodger, the young man who killed six people and wounded 13 others before turning a gun on himself last month in Isla Vista.
Rodger is speaking publicly for the first time since learning his son was behind the mass murders.
In an ABC News “20/20” special airing Friday night at 10 p.m. Barbara Walters asks the tough questions.
“Are you responsible?”
“Why didn’t you do more?”
NewsChannel 3 had the pleasure of interviewing Walters about the interview and the impact it might have on our local community.
“I think it will be very painful,” Walters said. “They may resent the fact that we interviewed Elliot’s father. But he did it so this kind of thing would never happen again.”
“20/20” airs Friday night, June 27, on ABC.
