Driver Sent to Hospital After Car Crash
A 25-year-old man is in the hospital Friday from a car accident on the highway. It happened just after 11:30 a.m. on southbound Highway 101 near the Garden St. exit
Officials said the single car collided with the right side guardrail. A fire spokesperson reported the man was extremely combative while on the way to the hospital.
The ambulance had to stop on the side of the freeway to further restrain the man.
Traffic was backed up while emergency crews worked to clear the accident.
The solo driver sustained minor injuries from the crash. The cause of the crash is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
