Thanksgiving recipe: Yam Latkes

Wine Cask restaurant in Santa Barbara opened up its kitchen and shared some special holiday recipes. In honor of Thanksgiving and the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah landing on the same day, Chef Brandon shows us how to make yam latkes, or sweet potato pancakes.

Yam Latkes–

Ingredients:
1 pound grated yams
2shallots sliced thin
2 eggs
1/4 cup flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper

Mix all in a bowl, then scoop out small amounts and form into a pancake shape, fry in pan on med-low heat, 4minutes on each side until golden.

Topping:
1/2 cup of sour creme (or creme fraiche)
2 teaspoon grated horse radish
1/2 cup pomegranate seeds

-mix sour creme and horse radish, place on top of pancakes, sprinkle pomegranate seeds on top to finish.
