Man Arrested after Vehicle Pursuit in Hope Ranch

The man who led Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s deputies on a pursuit through Hope Ranch Saturday night is behind bars.

Lyman Cole Hawley, 33, of Ventura and a female passenger, were in a stolen car that had LoJack. That tipped off deputies around 6:30 p.m.

Hawley drove into Hope Ranch, reaching speeds of 75 mph and passed cars on the wrong side of the road.

He eventually stopped and ran away near Via Esperanza and a reverse 911 call was made to nearby residents.

After a three hour search with deputies and a K-9 unit, authorities could not find him.

Hawley was found Sunday afternoon in Oxnard.
