Pilot identified by a tattoo in fatal plane crash
The coroner’s unit of the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office has identified the pilot involved in this week’s fatal plane crash.
He is identified as 44-year-old Scott Morgan Metzger of San Luis Obispo. A tattoo was discovered and confirmed by the family along with DNA evidence.
The plane went down Monday shortly after takeoff from the San Luis Obispo airport. Investigators said the plane hit a FedEx truck and a building.
The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the cause of the crash. Fortunately no one on the ground was hurt.
