Oil Tank Not Historically Significant
The City of Ventura’s Historic Preservation Committee chose not to save a relic of the oil industry. This week the Preservation Committee determined that a 61 year old tank near the entrance to the Ventura Harbor is not historically significant. Now the 135-thousand barrel tank, that used to store crude oil pumped from offshore oil pipelines, can be demolished.Beacan Energy Services could also bring it up to code but that could be costly.Another tank on the property is still in use.
