SANTA MARIA, Calif. -- A toy drive is scheduled next week to help benefit children of Good Samaritan Shelter clients.

The event will take place on Friday, Dec. 17 at Stowasser Buick GMC in Santa Maria from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The organizers are asking the public to donate a new, unwrapped toy, which will later be given to a child within the Good Samaritan Shelter program.

Good Samaritan assists many families throughout Santa Barbara County that are experiencing homelessness and are in need of temporary or permanent housing.

Good Samaritan officials indicate the need for toys it especially great this year because of many circumstances, including the pandemic.

Stowasser Buick GMC is located at 600 E. Betteravia Road in Santa Maria.
