One of the nation’s largest gem fairs draws an estimated 3,000 visitors in Santa Barbara

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The Gem Faire came to Santa Barbara this weekend.
The fair one of the largest gem, jewelry and bead shows in the United States.
“It has been going on for 30 years. We travel around the West coast. It has everything for everybody like gold, silver and diamonds,” said manager Ramon Cesena of the gem show.
Visitors from all over the country came to see the gems.
Eli Paul traveled from Tennessee to be here.
“I think it's really interesting like the physics of how they come to be and what they are. it's just really nice,” Paul said.
Nearly 100 exhibitors from around the world came to show off their gemstones.
Visitor Jason Campbell helped his kids find their birthstones.
“Yeah we're here to get some Christmas presents for the family and my son loves Opal,” Campbell said.
The show featured millions of beads, crystals, minerals and semi-precious gemstones and other earth's treasures.
“It's incredible to say the least. It's mind blowing to see these vendors and see what they do. Some sell raw gems straight from the earth,” Paul said.
All the gem faire dealers are direct importers, wholesalers and manufacturers.
Organizers estimate about 3,000 people came to this weekend's show.
