Hospice volunteers needed along the Central Coast

SAN LUIS OBISPO & SANTA BARBARA COUNTIES, Calif. - Central Coast Hospice is looking for volunteers to provide in-home companionship and care to hospice patients in San Luis Obispo County, the Santa Maria Valley and Santa Barbara.

Hospice volunteers help supervise patients, assist with light household tasks, provide emotional support and socialization, and help with other miscellaneous tasks.

They say volunteers are a critical part of its program, and the need for assistance is greater than ever.

If you are interested in volunteering, Central Coast Hospice says no prior experience is necessary. Potential volunteers just have to have an interest in helping others, and be able to participate in a training program prior to beginning their volunteer experience.

Central Coast Hospice will soon be offering free volunteer trainings.

If you are interested in participating, you can call Central Coast Hospice at (805) 540-6020. You can also e-mail them at: info@cchh08.com.
