Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center frontline workers honored on American Idol

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - If you're an American Idol fan, you might have noticed some familiar faces on Sunday night's show.

Team members from Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center were honored during the beginning of the episode.

Chief Nursing Officer Art Dominguez and Sierra Vista's Chief Operating Officer Eleze Armstrong can be seen taking off with capes after the group says "This is American Idol!"

Dominguez was told that American Idol was looking for videos of frontline healthcare workers and so he arranged for a video to be taken on National Nurses Day.

This worked out well as many staff members were already dressed like superheroes to honor their nurse heroes.

Amazingly, Sierra Vista's clip was chosen out of all other entries received from across the country.
