SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Legendary singer songwriter Kenny Loggins will share hosting duties with Beth Farnsworth and CJ Ward, as well as Unity’s Executive Director, Tom Reed, during Saturday's 33rd Annual Unity Telethon, which will be televised live.

You can watch on KEYT NewsChannel 3 and on KEYT.com between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.

The event will showcase performances, interviews with entertainers, community leaders and numerous volunteers and guests, for a 4-hour production that is sure to tug on heartstrings as much as it entertains.

Country superstar and Unity Shoppe superfan, Brad Paisley, prerecorded two songs especially for the Telethon (including Born on Christmas Day, which he wrote when he was 12-years-old).

Paisley and his wife, actress Kimberly Williams-Paisley, live in Montecito with their two sons. In fact, the couple was so impressed with how the organization helps families from sinking deeper into poverty, they established The Store in conjunction with his alma mater, Belmont University, in Nashville.

“We really want to get people before this is a major crisis…help people in this gap as they try to get back on their feet,” Paisley said.

Viewers will also get the chance to see Kenny Loggins in a high-energy performance along with young singers from The Adderley School on the heels of their uber successful 35th Anniversary Concert Celebrating the Music of Footloose held in August.

More than 20 additional guests, including renowned actor and beloved resident, Jeff Bridges, appear during the Telethon. Active community and business leaders from throughout Santa Barbara County will also be on hand.

“Our year-round programs depend heavily on our community and volunteers in order to create a unique and efficient way to care for those in need. Unity brings together people from diverse backgrounds and all walks of life!” says 45-year Unity Operations veteran, Barbara Tellefson. “In partnership with KEYT-TV for 33 years now, we’ve given viewers a chance to go “behind the curtain” at Unity and see how we are able to support over 20,000 Santa Barbara friends and neighbors in need."

On Saturday, December 14, 2019, viewers may call in between the hours of 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 805-845-5555, and speak with a phone bank volunteer to make their pledge.
