Officials take mountain lion into custody in Simi Valley

SIMI VALLEY, Calif. -- Simi Valley police and California Fish and Game wardens took a mountain lion into custody on Thursday in Simi Valley.
Officials say the mountain lion was spotted in the residential areas of Belburn Place and Broadmoor Avenue in Simi Valley early Thursday morning.
Officers responded and located the lion in a backyard.
The wardens successfully tranquilized the mountain lion and took the animal into custody.
Officials say there have been no additional reports of any mountain lion sightings.
Officials lifted all street closures in the area and have allowed vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
