SANTA MARIA, Calif. - Wine growers across the Central Coast are looking forward to the rain anticipated Thursday.

According to the National Weather Channel, there's at least a 40 percent chance of rain hitting the Santa Maria area in the evening.

The heaviest rain is expected between 9:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.

Wine growers say the wet weather will be good for their crops after weeks of warm weather on the Central Coast.

Managers at Riverbench Winery say they're hoping for several inches of rain.
