Grover Beach Parks and Recreation honors volunteers

GROVER BEACH, Calif. - The Grover Beach Parks and Recreation Department honored volunteers with a special dinner on Friday.
They honored over 150 volunteers for their time and monetary support in 2019 for the betterment of public parks and recreation services, programs and events.

The theme for the event was called Volunteers Shine Bright. The event was planned by Cal Poly Experience Industry Management Department students: Colin MacPherson, Lea Ungar, Roby Gagnon and Ally Hutson; with guidance from their class instructor, Dr. Marni Goldenburg, as well as City staff.
Guests enjoyed a dinner catered by Ribline in Grover Beach.

The program also awarded recognition to people and agencies:
- Volunteer of the Year: Dale Fluid
- Agency of the Year: Cal Poly's Experience Industry Management Department
- Business of the Year: Mongo's Saloon and 3 Fat Guys Restaurant
