California expands health care coverage to low income regardless of immigration status

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. – California will become the first state to provide free health care to low income residents regardless of immigration status. This will provide coverage to over 700,000 undocumented immigrants ages 26 to 49.

This is a part of the $300 billion budget proposal that Gov. Gavin Newsom.

The coverage is expected to begin in 2024.
