GUADALUPE, Calif. - The Air Pollution Control District (APCD) of Santa Barbara County is distributing free air purifiers to Guadalupe and Casmalia residents on Sunday, Sept. 26.

The distribution is taking place at the Guadalupe Dunes Center at 1065 Guadalupe Street from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Citizens can pick up the purifiers with a proof of address.

The devices will be handed out on a first-come, first-served basis with a limit of one per household.

A second distribution will be taking place on Thursday, Sept. 30, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the same location for those who are still in need.

The APCD said it is holding this event as part of a pilot program to help protect residents against wildfire smoke.
