Santa Barbara County Public Health discusses what California’s reopening will look like
SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. – The Santa Barbara County Public Health Department provided a glimpse of how things will look like for residents after California officially reopens its economy Tuesday.
Santa Barbara County Public Health Director Dr. Van Do-Reynoso presented those details and recommendations Tuesday morning at the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors meeting.
"Today is the day that we have all been waiting for such a long time," said Dr. Do-Reynoso. "June 15 marks our journey to a full recovery of the COVID-19 pandemic."
In the meeting, Do Reynoso touched on the following big changes that come with the states' reopening:
- Masks are not required in most settings, except where required for all people.
- Masks are required for unvaccinated people in both indoor public and business settings
- No person can be prevented from wearing a mask as a participation in an activity or entry
- Businesses, venues and hosts may choose to implement vaccine verifications and require everyone to wear a mask
- Indoor events like conferences, conventions, et. requires verification of fully vaccinated status or a pre-entry negative COVID test, masks are required at all times
- Outdoor events like music or food festivals, car shows, etc. requires a verification of fully vaccinated status or a pre-entry of all people attending to test negative for COVID-19 is strongly recommended, masks are required
