Santa Maria Fire Department: Crews deployed to half-dozen fires

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - Crews with the Santa Maria Fire Department say it has been a challenge working with current health orders.

While firefighters are maintaining a physical distance, they say it's been difficult having to work in close proximity such as preparing equipment together.

In addition, about 30 percent of their crew members are deployed to half-dozen fires in California including the Bobcat Fire, Valley Fire, Slater Fire, Eolon Fire, and the August Fire.

They say they are down to "minimal resources."
