Christmas helps deliver Stephen F. Austin past Cal Baptist 62-60 in OT

RIVERSIDE, Calif. (AP) — Chrishawn Christmas’ layin off a missed shot with 2.1 seconds left helped Stephen F. Austin beat Cal Baptist 62-60 in overtime on Thursday night.

Latrell Jossell scored 22 points and collected five steals for the ‘Jacks (15-13, 8-9 Western Athletic Conference). Jalil Beaubrun scored 16 points and added six rebounds. Christmas went 2 of 5 from the field to finish with six points.

The Lancers (14-14, 7-10) were led in scoring by Scotty Washington, who finished with 19 points. Blondeau Tchoukuiengo added 15 points and five assists for Cal Baptist. In addition, Kendal Coleman finished with 12 points and 16 rebounds. The loss is the sixth straight for the Lancers.

Both teams play again on Saturday. SFA visits Grand Canyon and Cal Baptist hosts UT Rio Grande Valley.
