UPDATE: Vegetation fire in Santa Margarita held at 100 acres, 100% contained
SANTA MARGARITA, Calif. — A vegetation fire began Sunday before noon in Santa Margarita, according to Cal Fire San Luis Obispo County.
The fire burned 100 acres and was 100% contained Wednesday evening.

According to the San Luis Obispo County Fire dispatch and the California Highway Patrol, the fire broke out near Highway 58 and Shell Creek Road at approximately 11:54 a.m. Sunday.
Cal Fire SLO says, forward progress on the fire was halted a little over 3 p.m. on Sunday.
ALERTCalifornia cameras by Pacific Gas and Electric captured the fire, showing black smoke appearing near the vegetation hillside.
According to Cal Fire SLO, when the fire began they believed it had the potential to reach 300 acres and is was first called the "Wildland Fire," but has since been called the "Shell Fire."
Cal Fire SLO said no immediate structures were threatened.
At this time, the cause of fire remains under investigation.
