Overnight lane closures on Highway 101 in Gaviota for paving to start July 16
GAVIOTA, Calif. – Overnight lane closures will take place on Highway 101 in Gaviota from July 16 until Aug. 11, according to Caltrans.
Starting Sunday, the right lane of both US 101 north and south will be closed from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Construction will take place north of Gaviota State Park to the Old Coast Highway.
During the closure, contractors will reconstruct the shoulders, place High Friction Surface Treatment, remove and replace concrete barriers and install new guardrails.
The lane closure also allows for grinding and paving of the road for approximately six miles as well as the installation new drainage systems.
Construction is anticipated to end by Winter 2025 as part of a $46.5 million project commissioned to CalPortland Construction of Santa Maria.
