Crews put out fire in multi-family complex on Southwood Drive in San Luis Obispo
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – Firefighters put out a structure fire in a two-story, multi-family complex located on Southwood Drive near Lauren Lane on Friday, according to San Luis Obispo City Fire.
Crews responded at 11:52 a.m. to a first alarm structure fire, finding one unit on the first floor filled with heavy smoke and flames, and no occupants inside according to city fire.
City fire said crews made an aggressive attack and knocked down the fire on the first floor, then moving up to the second floor where they found extensive heat and smoke damage.
After completing a primary and secondary search of the building, city fire said crews found no occupants inside, and the fire did not extend to any adjacent apartments.

City fire said crews are conducting all operations and attempting to salvage the area, and fire investigators are on the scene attempting to determine cause and origin.
