Woman has seizure while driving on U.S. 101 in Ventura

VENTURA, Calif. - California Highway Patrol and the Ventura County Fire Department responded to a minivan that ran off the road on the U.S. 101 southbound near Vineyard Avenue.

The incident occurred at about 3:25 p.m.

The driver, described as a Hispanic female, reportedly had a seizure while driving on the freeway. She was not coherent as of 3:27 p.m.

The CHP website says the silver Dodge minivan went off the roadway after hitting the center divider and is located 20 feet off the road in the bushes.

A witness confirmed they saw the woman having a medical emergency in her van prior to going off the roadway.

We do not yet know the current condition of the driver.

No other vehicles were involved in this incident.

CHP is investigating the crash.
