Santa Barbara Maritime Museum

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The Santa Barbara Maritime Museum has opened enrollment for their 11-week docent training program.

The training courses begin Jan 14 and run from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Saturdays until Mar 25.

The public is invited to attend the first course and then decide if they want to continue training and serving as a volunteer at the museum.

Docent Diane Kirchner said, “I have to admit that I love being in the museum. I learn something new every day, and it’s fun to share tidbits with our guests. They are always so appreciative.”
