Single vehicle rollover shears fire hydrant in Santa Maria
SANTA MARIA, Calif. – A single vehicle rollover crash caused a fire hydrant to spew water in Santa Maria near the Northern Branch Jail, according to Santa Barbara County Fire Department.
Scott Safechuck of SBC Fire said traffic is down to one lane at the accident and is being controlled by California Highway Patrol.
The crash sheared a fire hydrant on Black Rd, in between Mahoney and Dutrard Rd, but Safechuck said firefighters were able to shut the water down.
Safechuck also said there was no driver or patient found on the scene of the crash.

Santa Barbara County Fire Department was called to the single vehicle accident at the intersection of Betteravia Rd and Black Rd in Santa Maria around 6:08 p.m. Wednesday.
