Santa Barbara police receive fire proof jackets to wear during wildfires

The Santa Barbara Police Foundation has donated 50 fire retardant jackets, valued at $9,200, to be worn by SBPD officers during wildfires.

The Santa Barbara City Council accepted the donation at Tuesday’s City Council meeting.

The donation ensures officers’ safety when assisting firefighters with resident evacuations, road blocks, and looting prevention during wildfire incidents.

No City funds were used for this donation.
