One man arrested after police, SWAT surround Eastside Santa Barbara neighborhood

SANTA BARBARA, Calif - One man was arrested after Santa Barbara Police officers and a SWAT team executed a search warrant on the 100 block of Alisos Street on Thursday morning, according to the Santa Barbara Police Department.

Neighbors along the 100 block of Alisos Street heard calls for people to "come outside" as Santa Barbara Police and SWAT team surrounded a home, according to a News Channel 3-12 crew on the scene.

The police activity started early Thursday morning as officers arrived near Alisos Street and Cacique Street. Police, SWAT, and detectives searched a warrant at the address, which led to the arrest of an adult man, according to Sgt. Ethan Ragsdale.

He was taken back to the Santa Barbara Police station, Ragsdale said.

Several people were brought out of residences along Alisos Street and questioned by officers.

The police department was not releasing any additional information on why the search warrant was issued or executed, or why the man was arrested.

By 7 a.m. the scene was much calmer and the SWAT team was clearing the scene.
