Drugs And Firearms Left In Santa Maria Hotel Room

Santa Maria hotel employees found quite the surprise when reviewing a hotel room Tuesday night.

Police officers responded to a hotel on the 200 block of S Nicholson Avenue after hotel employees reported a large quantity of controlled substances, cash and firearms in a hotel room guests had checked out of.

As they were arriving on the scene, officers witnessed two suspects attempting to break into the hotel room.

The suspects, Flavio Delabra, 41, and Dawn Karen Bischoff, 52, fled the scene, but were soon picked up and taken into custody.

In the hotel room, police seized suspected methamphetamine, a large quantity of money and a firearm that was reported stolen.

Delabra was booked into Santa Barbara County Jail for weapons and narcotics violations and Bischoff was cited and released for possession of methamphetamine.
