Deadly Oxnard Shooting, Victim Crashes Into Business

Oxnard police are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred early Thursday morning.

The incident happened at about 2:36 a.m. on the 4800 block of South Rose Avenue.

Police say when they arrived on scene, they discovered a vehicle had driven into a doughnut shop with a male victim inside the car. The victim was unresponsive, and was suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators are not releasing the identity of the victim pending notification of next of kin, but they did say that the victim was a 24-year-old Oxnard resident.

This is Oxnard’s fourth homicide of the year.
