Paso Robles Saloon Employee Cited After Decoy Operation

Police identified 12 Paso Robles businesses that refused to sell alcohol to minors in a sting decoy operation Saturday.

A minor entered several businesses and attempted to purchase alcohol under the supervision of undercover Paso Robles Police Department officers. Out of 13 businesses tested, one sold alcohol to the minor.

That business was Pine Street Saloon located on the 1200 block of Pine Street. The clerk that sold the alcohol was issued a citation for $1,000 and community service.

The businesses that did not sell alcohol to the minor included:

Cregor’s at 611 Spring St.

Smart & Final Grocery at 2121 Spring St.

One Stop Food at 703 Spring St.

One Stop Food at 1924 Creston Road

Paso Robles Inn at 1103 Spring St.

Food 4 Less at 1465 Creston Road

Savage Spirits & Deli at 2050 Spring St.

Woodland Chevron at 190 Niblick Road

AM/PM at 195 Niblick Road

CVS Pharmacy at 187 Niblick Road

Downtown Brewing Co. at 1108 Pine St.

Pappy McGregor’s Pub at 1122 Pine St.

City officials regularly conduct these operations, designed to reduce youth access to alcohol.

The Paso Robles Police and Alcohol Beverage Control Investigators intend to conduct similar operations in the coming months.

Officials want to urge the public to take a firm stance against furnishing alcohol to those under the age of 21 as it can lead to risky behavior or death.
